Coming here to Lens 101 is a good start.
I'm not going to read all that. Who here is going to read all that?
It's strange, but I wasn't able to find a single thing about re-centering multi-focal contact lenses.
As for how to re-center any kind of lens without leaving fingerprints, there are tools...
[QUOTE=luvbostonxo2's;219642]
Thank you for sharing your encouraging story.
Hey Susan, nice to have you here. Probably the best way to get into this forum is to answer as many questions as you can. If you wear contact lenses, go to the section with your brand and see what...
Hey there, Thom-Music. Thanks for joining us. I looked up those Comfilcon A toric lenses, and I think you're right. They are Biofinity Toric lenses. The literature says "The BIOFINITY (comfilcon A)...
No, not me either. I got my glasses through my work insurance.
I guess they need a much bigger database of faces. So would that be a Face Database?
I think you're right, Uhura. (Nice geeky name, by the way.) I was not able to find a picture of a rugged hiker-type wearing glasses.
That's 786,432 pixels of Zoe cuteness.
I thought Cancer was supposed to be a crab. That illustration up there looks more like a lobster.
Not that the constellation looks all that much like a crab . . .
I actually did find something at Jewel that works fairly well. They're called "My Wipes Lens Cleaner" and they come in a flat shiny dark blue package. It has a resealable tab on it so when you take...
It's good to know that eye car professionals keep learning.
They don't do that any more, do they. At least you don't have to pay to join. It won't cost you anything to make that pop-up go away.
The size of the picture is just fine, stribe11. I like the pupil effect in the bottom picture. It reminds me of the eye of a hurricane.
Isn't that true of all contact lenses, though?
I'm suspicious of that "more people than not have some kind of reaction." I haven't looked at the numbers, but if more people have problems with them than not, wouldn't you think they'd discontinue...
I'm glad you didn't say you were 42 1/2. When do we stop saying that?
Thanks for checking in. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate ask.
Have you searched Lens 101 for the answer to that question? I'm pretty sure someone on this site said something about how long you can wear monthly lenses if you don't sleep in them. I don't remember...
Lens 101 already has it covered: http://www.lens101.com/general-contact-lens-care-questions/60-how-insert-remove-contact-lens.html
I hope that generic list of instructions is helpful to you. If...
So far so good?
I haven't tried Adore contact lenses, but I find it interesting that you're looking for brown lenses on brown eyes. I happen to like brown eyes and I don't understand why people always seem to want...
Hang in there, aa62579, and keep us posted on your progress.
It's a good thing we have people like you on websites like this to help us navigate through the fog.
That's a funny mental picture of someone wearing their roommate's contact lenses and gagging at the thought of using their toothbrush. :D
Welcome to Lens 101, louminary. Thanks for joining us. Is Clear 1-day a brand of contact lenses?
Wow, what a sad story. I'm sorry about all those ulcers, Joanne2476. One question. Did you try switching the lenses? Put the right lens in the left eye so that you can see if it's the lens or your...
Still no reply from wrlens.com?
So dark brown + white = light bluish grey?
Maybe that's why she has lipstick on her teeth. She was applying the war paint with only one lens and a semi-squint.
I've seen quite a few people out the article "an" in front of the word "astigmatism" but I don't think I've ever seen it plural.
So have those different drops helped?
Until we hear back from luvbostonxo2's, I'm going to say . . . sure. That sounds good.
I'm sure you're right, but I was kind of hoping to have an answer by now.
So you mean that the colored part doesn't always go all the way to the edge of the lens?
Hello, John Hyldand. Welcome to Lens 101. Do you think you're up to answering some of the questions that are waiting in this forum?
They probably won't sell you the lenses if they don't match your prescription.
Okay, but you can live with the dryness, right?
I agree Timbo59. Sterile saline is best.
That seemed kind to strange to me, too.
I don't know why a doctor would prescribe XO lenses to anyone when XO2 lenses are available at the same price. That's a good point, tom jones.
Steuhrob is correct. If you want to get contact lenses that aren't available in your prescription, you need to either get a different brand, or see if your doctor will change your prescription to...
Nice work, 321contacts. It looks like this was the kind of thing that ah52 was looking for.
Yeah, these threads can get away from you if you're not careful. :)
Would you be willing to model them for us, luvbostonxo2's? Have you done so already?
I'm impressed by your ability to identify a contact lens just by looking at a picture of someone wearing it.
If I had a college professor that looked like her I'd make sure never to miss a class. I might even stay after class to ask a few questions.
Yeah, a giant contact lens, orange moon, girl with angry eyes and the Incredible Hulk--just to name a few.
Yeah, like the Colonel's Secret Recipe of eleven herbs and spices.
So I take it your doctor did not tell you to wear them for that long?
Yeah, that's a nice look.
Ladies and gentlemen . . . Miley Cyrus and her lipstick-y teeth.
It's amazing what warm milk and a nap will do. :)
For what it's worth, it bugs me too when people say "an astigmatism." I read that a lot around here.
Yeah, bad stuff could happen.
What's the lens "matrix"? I've heard that word here before, but I'm not quite sure what it means.
Yeah, moving through the water--hydrodynamics. If the buckle was flat then it probably wouldn't disturb your swimming groove.
So how long does this adaptation period typically last, assuming a "bang on" fit?
I wonder why she's not speaking to us? :(
Nice work ruththomas. I would just like to add that most people see their eye doctor once a year. Your mileage may vary.
Good, now if we could only get someone to answer the question. To the Staining Grid, Robin!
So we see that for Oasys contact lenses, Aquify stained--and therefore damaged-- 3% of the lenses...
I don't know why you didn't just say "Google' instead of "google.com", but we're glad you found us.
I'd like to get a basket like that . . .
So I guess the answer to this question is "put your contact lenses in first . . . or not."
I've never heard of them, but then that's not all that surprising since I have not yet subscribed to the Nike sunglasses newsletter.
How about lenses that have become dimpled with tiny pits?
This is probably one of those "no news is good news" scenarios, isn't it?
Nope. I guess that's just about it for the Focus Dailies Progressives rebate. I checked Lens.com and they didn't have anything there about a rebate, but there was something about "buy 5+ per eye" and...
I never thought about it at the time, but now when I think of the times I wore swim goggles I always can feel the rubber strap pulling my hair. Maybe that buckle would come in handy.
Well, if it weren't for all that "secondary and third curves placed onto the lens front or back" stuff you mentioned before, then I think it would be a lot easier to buy contact lenses, no?
Cool. I didn't know that the tear layer can be so useful.
So have you known many people who have switched from Air Optix to Air Optix Aqua?
Well, that's easy enough to fix!
Maybe you can ask your eye doctor to put a mark on the lens that goes on your right eye, although I'm sure at this point if you put the lenses in wrong again...
Thanks for your comments on your Waicon Tricolor lenses. That's what this forum does best.
Not so fast, Autonation. I want to make sure than nobody forgot my original answer to the original question.
Q: Should you put on makeup first or your contacts? What's a good way to remember the...
Well, no takers so far, which is probably a good thing.
I hope we don't have to hear any more about that. It's a shame when something gets damaged like that, especially when it's used as directed.
Thanks for the good news. I'm glad the picture you chose isn't too distracting. That costume definitely defines a Catwoman. R-r-r-r-reow!
Have you got any pictures of those gold sparkles in your eyes?
That was almost 18 months ago. I wonder if dim0n still feels so positive about those Biofinity contacts.
Speaking of Freud, I think your "slip" is showing, HVAC. :)
I think Lollie's gone. I hope she's happy, wherever she is. She had cool hair in her profile picture.
See, you understand what I mean.
I see you have almost 400 posts at this point. I think you've helped more than in "some small way." Keep up the good work.
Did you have any problems or issues when you were originally fitted for your Durasoft 3 Optifit Toric contact lenses, or did they feel great right off the proverbial bat?
It seems lately that so many contact lenses are being discontinued. Does anyone know of any plans to stop production of Vertex Sphere lenses?
I read something on another site about a guy who ordered contact lenses in the mail and as soon as he saw them he knew the prescription was wrong. He said they were too thin and to flat. Have you...
Yup. That's what toric lenses are for.
Thanks for the pep talk, Jesterhester. I guess The People just aren't interested.
Yeah, so am I. Thanks for quoting my question with its grammatical and punctuation errors. :o I fixed them in my original post, but I can't do anything about others quoting me. So to all the Grammar...
Hey, thanks Jawa. That's just what I was looking for. Looks like the sizes range from 4.1 to 8.8 millimeters, which makes the average pupil about 6.5 millimeters.
Thanks for clearing that up.
Okay, so Biotrue is better in that your toric contacts function properly, but it doesn't clean your lenses as well as Clear Care. So which are you going to use?
Boy I'd hate to get a post from someone whose lens fell out as they were driving and they crashed their car. Of course, if they are able to post about it, I guess it wasn't so bad, but still . . .
Maybe it's best that your original idea didn't work out . . .
So the Clear Care did something to your toric lenses that prevented them from rotating properly?
Has anyone else found anything helpful on YouTube?
By the way. There is a website called "Utube" that you should probably stay away from. WebofTrust gives it red marks for Trustworthiness, Vendor...
Thank you tootles34.
Oh, so the optic disk is a part of the retina in the eye. I get it. Thanks for asking, Lee.
Did you start wearing Biomedics Toric lenses because the ones you were wearing before were too uncomfortable?
Have you learned any tricks that make OP-10 contact lenses more comfortable to wear that you'd like to share with your friends on Lens 101?
When you want to get used to wearing contact lenses, of course one way is to practice. What are some other ways that can help smooth the transition to contact lens wear?
