Which story was that, redpy5? I want to be inspired, too.
Well, like Lens 101, their job is ultimately to sell contact lenses to you. Hopefully this site is a bit more subtle about it. ;)
Which Softcolors are you talking about? CibaSoft SoftColors? Are you looking for vial lenses specifically, or any kind of lens that matches your Softcolors?
On CVS.com and many other websites it lists the ingredients of Reviatalens. I put the preservative in bold:
"RevitaLens OcuTec Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution is a Sterile, Buffered Aqueous...
What do you think, jbrotfeld? Would you prefer to use this method or would you like to continue to use Clear Care with an extra rinse?
Thank you for the valuable insight. Have you learned this from experience?
Have you got a cleaning technique that doesn't sting at all?
What is a statement like that called? It's not a syllogism, I tried that.
I tried a couple of websites that claimed to be able to read .PDF files, but none of them could read the link left by BobbyD. Maybe there was a letter missing or something?
So these were contact lenses which have been sealed in their box since 2011? If the expiration date isn't until 2013 then you should have any "spoilage" issues.
Last we heard the lenses were...
I thought I'd look up "eyelid bumps" and here's what I found at http://www.richmondeye.com/eyehealth_eyelid.asp:
Chalazion (stye)
A chalazion, or stye, appears as a well defined lump within...
RGP lenses usually have a very small diameter, so if Air Optix lenses are small enough to have that dilated pupil effect, the RGP lenses probably won't help. Try them anyway. If those are still fuzzy...
Hi Sarah.
It wasn't easy to find information about buildup on daily disposable lenses. However I did find this on livestrong.com. Not all of these things apply to daily lenses; you probably don't...
Those Solotica people didn't sell you that "preservative solution" did they? Did it come free with the lenses or did you have to buy it extra. If you had to pay for it, I think I might know why...
How about one more comment from me? I don't know if sunglasses frames come in a wide variety of colors. I've pretty much seen black and white. I've not seen very many orange or green sunglasses...
That's very sweet, Jawa. I agree that a person's personality is more important than their looks. Why, some of my closest friends are really ugly.
Wait, that came out wrong . . .
What? You have a life outside of Lens 101?
I'm glad you gave those multifocal contacts another try, too. What about the LASIK? Is that off the table now?
I've heard of those lenses with the close up vision in the middle and the distant vision around the edges, but I can't remember what they're called.
I appreciate the things that luvbostonxo2 has contributed, too. I'm hoping that Lens 101 readers will be less inclined to take chances with their contact lenses now.
So how valuable have the suggestions been so far? Have you figured out what you'e going to do, yet?

I like to imagine threads like these having a happy ending. People going off and living happy fulfilled lives with beautiful eyes. That's why Lola's been quiet for such a long time.
Oh good. I though we'd lost you. Thankfully you're still with is. So what do you think about this forum? It's pretty cool, yeah?
Maybe this is the reason why happyrgplenswearer is no longer listed as a member of Lens 101?
Thanks for posting that link, Betty. Has anyone else tried that site?
Yeah, you're right CaptainKremen. I should have used this question to start a whole new thread. Thanks for the website. Sounds good.
I get the feeling that chele519 is finished with us.
I understand what you mean about distractions. You've got to strike a balance. Nothing that distracts from the eyes, preferably a face; and not just a giant eyeball.
I'd still rather see...
So far, so good, RacerX.
Could it be that this thread has just been wrapped up in a tidy little bow?
Is that something you've run into yourself, sylvia? How do I know I don't have to soak my contacts for a few days before I wear them? People are going to be paranoid now.
Wow, you must be one of those "close talkers." :)
http://jewmanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/close-talker-seinfeld.jpg
A "normal talking distance" would look more like the picture below,...
It's been about four months at this point, chele519. How are you feeling?
John Cleese and the Muppets. Now we've got even more class in this thread!
Okay, I don't know if this will help you, but I generally take my glasses off right before I go to bed, or sometimes before I get into the shower if I take one in the evening.
Does anyone have a...
Oh, no reason to apologize. I'm glad that Lens 101 helped you.
Yeah, I don't think there's any ambiguity as to how long these lenses can be worn.
"Fashion unconscious." I guess that would be the opposite of "fashion conscious," right?
Would you happen to know any alternatives to CSI DW contact lenses?
http://www.lens101.com/csi-dw-locator-tint/126256-csi-dw-discontinued-what-do-i-do.html
This forum needs a special section where people can find alternative brands to ones that have been discontinued.
Hey, there's nothing wrong with being a nerd. Where would this forum be without the nerds to answer all the questions?
According to this other thread in Lens 101, "Extended wear use of gas permeable [contact lenses] is not recommended."
...
Thanks for taking the time to patiently explain all that. It's a good post for a site called "Lens 101."
That's funny. :D
"You're really pretty."
"Why, yes I am."
Wow, you've not had much success with medical procedures, have you? I'm sorry. Can you wear glasses to correct your double vision, or are you okay with adjusting the position of your head? I hesitate...
Congratulations on your good report.
Perhaps you can talk to Rlvavdaan, who claims to wear daily disposable contacts for months.
...
Hi Rlvavdaan. I hope you find this forum useful and educational.
So, wait. You wear something called "daily" contact lenses and "reuse for them like 2 months" and you want to know if that's a bad thing?
Yes, it's a bad thing.
Daily disposable lenses are...
You pretty much had your problem solved before you even started on this thread, didn't you? Someone else started it, and then you came in and said "I had the same problem and here's how I fixed it."...
Here's an email that one of our members recently received from a representative of CIBA Vision: http://www.lens101.com/color-contact-lenses/127043-unfreaking-believable.html
Post #16
What do they call the European version of 1-Day Acuvue TruEye contacts?
Thanks for contacting Lens.com, NurseNancy, and posting the reply here. There's nothing like the official company line to clear up some misunderstanding. I hope tinitygrace and the others found it...
So far so good then? That's great. I hope the continue to feel good for you, paws.
Yes, I'm touched by the concern for my waistline. Truthfully I'm not into double cheeseburgers all that much.
Make sure you buy quality contact lenses. From Lens.com, for example.
(Nice plug,...
Thanks for giving me something interesting to read. Keep up the good work.
You made a good choice. What made you go with those nice rectangular frames? Were they your first shape choice?
Those contact lenses look very comfortable. Your eyes don't look red or irritated at all. If it were me, though, I'd want a more noticeable color change.
If they have the same ingredients and even in the same order, then I think they're the same thing.
It's a good thing I actually happen to be a "sir." ;)
Although, aren't female officers also called "sir" by those they outrank?
Perhaps that's a question for a different forum. :p
Hmmm. Sorry to read that. Will you give this "dip" another chance, or are you looking for another doctor right now?
Thanks for checking back with us, paws. Keep us posted.
Okay, well I guess that settles it then. Thanks for the investigation.
Eww. I was looking at those burgers and getting hungry, then I saw those burned feet and lost my appetite again. :(
Oh yes, look around and see how many people have posted pictures of themselves here. There's trinitygrace, Deejayt, Gnadt, and even the handosome and sharp-eyed Eltonlani.
Thanks for posting your...
Let us know how that Biofinity/Proclear combo works out. Did your eye doc--um . . . "optician" recommend that combination?
If CIBAVision has temporarily halted production of their lenses, then you don't seem to have a choice about buying a different brand. Why Waicon, though? Did your eye doctor recommend those for you...
Yeah, I remember that video, too. I'm old enough to remember when music videos actually looked different from each other.
Look at them yo-yos.
Aw, don't be afraid of the cute lil' kitty. He's already got a bad feeling.
I've heard of Bobby Knight, if only for his tendency to throw fits--and chairs. It's shame too. Doesn't he have a rather impressive number of wins as coach?
Keep on polishing those contact...
Peter Gabriel rocks.
Did you know that Pat Benetar had planned to attend Julliard to study music but "surprised family, friends and teachers by deciding a classical career was not for her and...
Do you speak Nerd, redraidermommy?
Does the phrase "I've got a bad feeling about this" mean anything to you?
I hope you finally find contact lens bliss redraidermommy, and I hope you let us know when you do.
Thanks for explaining that redraidermommy. (When I see that name I picture a woman surrounded by little red children running around. The Red Raiders is a sports team though, right?)
Don't worry...
Well, if you're a weirdo, then you'll fit right in with me. :D I could use some company.
So you like to use a dry finger, otherwise the lens falls off, right? Some people use a wet finger and...
Thanks for checking in. I hope you feel better soon, too.
Well, I was born in the very late 60's which meant that I was in high school and listening to the radio a lot in the 80's. That's why I like 80's music--it brings back memories. To this day when I...
I was thinking the same thing, but I can't blame allergies. ;)
As you can see on the top of this page, Acuvue Oasys lenses are listed in the "1-2 Week Disposable" contact lens category.
However, I'm going to give your eye doc the benefit of the doubt and say...
When you wear contact lenses for only a few hours, they don't have much time to accumulate the gunk, but I'm still curious if anyone has noticed anything on their lenses at the end of the day when...
How do these single wear daily disposable contact lenses feel at the end of the day? Can you wear them comfortably for as long as 12 hours?
I'm glad you understand, Sandi. Make your point clearly. Especially on a "101" forum like this one.
In case you're wondering, the "other thread" mentioned by reditchy is here: http://www.lens101.com/focus-night-day/64173-air-optix-night-day-vs-old-focus-night-day.html
Judging from what I've read on this forum so far, wearing lenses too long is not unheard of, unfortunately, but pitted lenses are pretty rare around here, so I don't think the two go together like a...
Thanks for the for the update. The fuzzy E is expected at this point in your recovery, right? You'll see it better later won't you?
Sounds like you fit right in here. ;)
How did you find Lens 101?
That's what Beckifera said. Did you find one too?
Hi dunhamdj. I'm sorry that your contact lenses are being discontinued. I checked Lens.com and they have a lens called Preference DW. Have you thought about those? They aren't made of the same...
I don't see why not. The Focus Night and Day contacts aren't progressive contact lenses though, are they?
Oh, the excitement just never ends!
Thanks for telling us what you think of Biofinity lenses, Gary. I've read a lot of good things on this forum about Biofinity.
That's great NoL8Msg. Thank for the tip.
If you've got a knack for finding replacements for discontinued products, look around this site and see what you can do. If I remember correctly, the Lens...
You're right, they do look a bit "muddy," but maybe after you've worn them for a week or so you'll like them better. Have you gotten any friend or family opinions?
Thank you for being willing to help, iluvpmmalenses. Keep up the good work.
That's just what some people do, but that could get expensive. Others take them out at night and then put them back in each morning until the lenses "expire" a week or a month later.
The best way...
It's hard to say what the "best" lenses are, because people are different. Acuvue Oasys may be better for you, or they may not. The best thing to do is to ask your eye doctor for a trial pair and...
I hope you find something that comforts your sensitive eyes, jellymelly14.
Okay, I'm glad you cleared that up. Thanks for asking, Horseluvr. It saved me the trouble. :D
