Yeah, try it on a window. Did you try it on a window?
I just use my T-shirt. One and done.
I got my prescription at the store where I bought my glasses.
Can you see me???
I don't think eyebrows are an important consideration when choosing a style of eyeglasses.
No, I don't wear An Klein glasses and yes, I take my glasses off for close work.
No, I think we can put the "bangs will ruin your eyes" theory to rest.
I agree. I think you hit upon a great reason to buy Ann Klein AK 8070 glasses.
Anyone? Anyone?
I might pay extra for giant glasses.
That's a great idea, lurker2010. I found this information on Allaboutvision.com:
Free Eye Exams for Adults
VISION USA, coordinated by the Optometry Cares – The AOA Foundation, provides free...
Hello there monicaeddwards. Welcome to Lens 101. What experience do you bring to the forum?
I agree. Just because a Dk/t number isn't the highest you've ever heard of doesn't mean the oxygen permeability is poor.
I looked up that clip and you're right. It's a pretty tight close-up and it's hard to tell what time of day that video was taken. Here's a commercial from India that might be more helpful to you....
Those are hand-painted lenses, are they? Thanks for the pictures. They look pretty good. Are they comfortable to wear?
I'm glad you're here to spice up our forum with cool phrases like "lateral displacement." :)
Thanks for sharing your routine with us patresh. People have asked on this forum whether makeup or contacts come first.
You wouldn't happen to be an Eyebox representative, would you? ;)
Cool. Have any of your friends gotten an Eyebox like yours?
I don't necessarily belong in that group, but it's a great question. :)
I don't know why toric lenses (for astigmatism) lenses would make your eyes feel tired faster unless it has to do with the mechanism that rotates the lenses every time you blink. That may cause you...
I'm glad that things turned out okay for you, Rhodes95. I hope things go just as well for lamb1011.
Some lenses are called "Enhancers" and they let a little bit of your natural eye color show through. If you see lenses called "Opaque," those completely cover your natural color.
Don't give up just yet. There are all kinds of contact lenses out there for all kinds of eyes. You'll find something. Let us know how you're doing.
How's this for an eye box?
Do you know what lens diameter fits your tiny irises?
It works better if you leave out the word "new" and just search for "I.X. Optical Challenger" sunglasses.
Do IX Optical sunglasses come with models called "Columbia" and "Challenger"?
Yeah I suppose you're right, although Mrs. Hewson might miss him if he were suddenly beamed aboard a starship or something.
Hey, did you just call my post spam? Most spam posts I've seen on this forum don't make any sense at all. I hope my post was at least somewhat intelligible.
Yes. Yes I did.
Thanks for humoring me, cattt. I guess no one has ever tried to send me email. They just contact me vial the public forum I suppose.
I tried following your five easy steps and got stuck on step...
Holy moly, is that one long sentence? Let's see, we'll add some punctuation, which really helps make things easier to read:
Hi guys I'm new here. Well, not that new. I used to get most of my...
Hi Leosun. What brings you here? Did you find us on Google? What kind of contact lenses or glasses do you wear?
Wow, that's a lot to know about contact lenses. I understand now more than ever how important it is to get fitted for contact lenses by a professional.
What about wearing vial lenses? Do you wear them yourself? It's good that you still prescribe them for patients who request them.
I guess because we're still posting? :D
That's true, it's not difficult--unless you're still new to contact lenses.
As for the risk of getting an acanthamoeba infection from wearing contact lenses in the shower, the Center for Disease...
Yup. There's also a Miss World (2011, Miss Venezuela, Ivian Sarcos) and even a Miss Universe (2011 's winner is Angola's own Leila Lopes), which I don't think is fair if Miss Venus isn't there.
Thanks for the tip, optical4u2. I don't need to take the exam myself, but hopefully someone will be able to use this information.
Hi sally13. Welcome to Lens 101.
I found a website for those Free Form glasses. I couldn't find anything on the site about progressive lenses, and then I found another site, but for some reason...
The very first post in this thread said "Grey expressions lenses they look very natural." The punctuation and capitalization aren't the greatest, but at least he told us what brand of lenses he was...
It doesn't matter where you're from, mobber001. We're glad to have you here. Your English looks pretty good to me. Technically you shouldn't start a sentence with the word "but," but we're pretty...
"They can make you brown eyes blue for 20 sec[onds]." Do you mean that they can make your brown eyes blue IN 20 seconds?
You asked if I would do this myself, and I don't think I would. I have...
It must be that "in the UK" part. Lens 101 is an American site. We don't get a lot of posters who say they are visitors from other countries, but do get a few here and there. I'm glad you decided to...
This is news to me. I didn't know that the parameters of your lenses can change if your eyes are dry. That probably causes a lot of problems.
Please let us know if a 9.0 base curve feels better for you, singerjeannie.
Have you yourself thought about giving up on vial lenses because they were becoming too expensive?
So what did you think of what joylee said about "a palatable sweetener" and "we are involuntarily made the beneficiary on the receiving end"?
You're an eye doctor, aren't you luvbostonxo2's? If so is this your professional medical opinion, or your personal opinion?
Just because the lines looked conspicuous in a picture doesn't mean they'll be that noticeable in your eyes. Maybe you should ask your doctor for a trial pair. Of course, those might have the word...
Yup, once I hear that a urologist is involved I suddenly lose interest.
Yup, you're right about that, sylvia.
I like how you wrote this post in verse. It looks like a poem.
I've got a poem for you
"There once was a man from--"
We regret to inform you that the remainder of this post has been...
Probably something like this:
Eyes = dry.
Butter = grease
Grease = not dry
Butter = dry eye relief.
Everybody wants to look awesome, don't they?
What's going on Aliaz? Still got the white stuff? I found this on a website called healthboards.com:
" . . . the discharge could be from allergies. White, stringy mucus is often associated with...
Yes, you're right. Packerbacker did say that. My mistake. I checked the Vial Contact Lenses page on Lens.com and the only brands that haven't been discontinued were Bausch & Lomb Silsoft Aphakic...
:(
Good question, fuzzyeyeball. What can you do? I hate to say it but if looks like you're not a good candidate for contact lenses. :(
Yeah, makeup is a way to subtly alter your appearance. So in that sense, colored contact lenses would be considered makeup.
How do I get an email when someone replies to my question? How can I set that up?
I don't understand either. If someone puts their left lens in their right eye, will that damage the lens in some way?
I wouldn't exactly call that an "attack." "Hottchick" said "I don't know, I'm not an eye doctor, so maybe that's perfectly fine." In my opinion, an attack would say something like "boy are you dumb"...
That's right. They made it look like you were in the 50's watching these people being interviewed on TV.
When TV characters ignore the fact that they're on TV and talk directly to the audience...
Nice one, mayibfrank. The picture just pulls the whole thing together.
How about vial lenses? I hear that those are custom made. They should be able to bang out a pair of -9.5 lenses for you.
I'm curious. How often to do you check back with Lens 101 after you've posted a question? Do yo check for a response every day? Do you start out checking on a daily bases, but check back less and...
Don't you hate it when you ask someone to clarify something they'd posted earlier, but they never respond? What is that?
I wanna go there. Let's go there.
Implants!
By the way, the website where I got this picture from calls these "The Most Famous Breast Implants of All Time."
That's good. Hopefully we can rule out GPC.
"Better" is such a vague term, especially when it comes to contact lenses. They come in so many different parameters. We'll start with this. What makes Oasys lenses good? Are they comfortable? Then...
Wow, well they sure don't look dark brown in the pictures. Are they comfortable as well?
Well, that's cool. Me, myself, I don't think I'd have the patience to wait for my contact lenses to be shipped to me from another country. Were they expensive, too? I learned a long time ago that...
Those are interesting, Petra, however in my opinion they would be too distracting anywhere but in a St. Patrick's Day parade.
It's okay. We know what you mean. :)
So, they didn't move the site after all?
Well, that's good enough for me. Thanks, comicbookguy. :)
If you were to ask me, I'd probably tell you honestly if I was wearing contact lenses or not.
Guys, have any of you ever asked a girl if she wore contact lenses and when she said she didn't you...
It doesn't sound like you use these solutions yourself, but that's fine. Do we have anyone who can tell me what preservative-free contact lens solution has worked for them?
Yeah, that's what we're all about around here, right?
I saw an article on line where a celebrity I've never heard of was asked a series of questions. One of them asked him to name an essential makeup item. His response was "Uhhh... do contact lenses...
Ha ha. Thanks for the Hitchhiker's quote. :D
Woah, yeah. Don't eat chili if you know you have a tendency to put your contact lenses in your mouth.
Better yet, don't ever put your contact lenses in your mouth.
Yeah. Totally.
Hey scroll up now look at the picture of that cat drumming his "fingers." Notice that his eyes narrow, too. I wonder if he needs contacts?
I don't know about you but I suddenly have a taste for an root beer float. Who's with me?
So those contact lenses that were all near vision came from the doctor's office? If so, were you be charged for the Proclear Multifocal lenses?
So have you got a picture of yourself with that sexy brown on brown look?
Oh, all right. I think a lesson has been learned here.
You're welcome. Does this new arrangement work well for you?
How often do you wear your colorful Durasoft 3 Optifit Toric contact lenses? Do you wear them every day, or only once in a while when color contact lenses were important to have? Like on a date?
Have you had your contact lens schedule changed by your eye doctor before? Did they tell you why they had to change your wearing routine?
They call me . . . Mister Forum Hog!
I guess it doesn't matter because as I understand it, there's no such thing as a "near" eye and a "far" eye. Whatever eye you put the lens in to let you see things close up, that becomes your "near"...
You suggested that a member of this forum wear glasses rather than buy contact lenses from the sponsor?
That's it. Go sit in the corner and think about what you've done.
Most people won't just enter a room and announce that they're wearing contact lenses. Have you ever seen someone drop a contact lens or something that gives them away and they looked all embarrassed?...
As far as I know none of my friends wear contact lenses, but I might be in the same boat, Jawa. It's a "don't ask, don't tell" situation.
Did those reports say that it's harmful to read in dim light?
Okay, well, it sounds like you're all set. I hope to hear from you again soon so we can find out about those test lenses. Maybe you'll want to start a new thread rather than add to this one.
Good idea. This thread is getting pretty long.
Do you wear Frequency 55 Multifocal contact lenses on only one eye? What about the other eye? Do you wear a different kind of contact lens in the other eye, or no lens at all? Tell us your one-lens...
