What did you think when you first tried on your new Frameworks glasses? Did you say "Wow! I can see so good in these!" or were you a bit underwhelmed?
I ask you friends, what better name for glasses can there be than Focus?
Can you get Flinstones glasses in your eye doctor's office with out much fuss? Do most eye doctors stock them along with other children's glasses?
These Flexure glasses are made of something called "memory metal." (First of all, should I put a trademark symbol there?) I'm wondering if when you bend those glasses, do they snap right back into...
Where can I find more information about Flexotic glasses?
Glasses named 'Flex Factor" are probably specially made to bend without breaking, but how much will they bend? Has anyone tested them?
And why won't the word "Glasses" stay capitalized at the...
I've heard of Flexon, and I found Flex Factor, Flex-Lite, Flexotic and Flexy, but what about just plain "Flex" glasses? I've never heard of them until I found them here. What can you tell me about...
I saw these glasses on a glasses website (Imagine that.) and I decided to see if I could find out more about them. They don't have a listing on Amazon (If I may mention them by name here.), bit I did...
Are there any of you out there who are wearing a particular brand of glasses because you saw someone on TV or in a movie wearing them and decided to track them down and buy them? If anyone answers...
It looks like Contact Lens Fitter can help you with this. I hope you two can sort it out. I've read a lot about contact lenses, but I've never fitted them on anyone before.
Do you know what the numbers in your prescription for Fend glasses mean? Is there anyone out there who has their prescription numbers memorized, like some people know their driver's license number?
Have you considered painting your Avalon glasses? Have you actually done it? What kind of paint did you use? Did you need some kind of primer or something first?
There are posts on this site that explain that, but if I remember correctly, high water content lenses tend to take moisture from the eyes in order to preserve that high water content.
Thanks for listing actual brands. That's a good idea and very helpful. I checked the one-day lenses they sell at Lens.com, and I didn't find anything called "Frequency" or "Purevision." Have those...
Mmmmm . . . di-sodium EDTA.
Yeah, still giant.
Yup, just scroll all the way back up to the top of this thread, and we'll forgive you if you pause to look at the pictures of Brittney Spears on your way.
Is that standard procedure to soak your contacts overnight before putting them in for the first time? Haven't they been soaking since they left the factory?
I guess that's a win for the FreshLook Sterling Grey lenses, isn't it?
I can see quite a bit of brown in both eyes.
When you say "limbal ring only" do you mean the lenses have no color, just a dark ring around the edge?
I wonder how the people at Wesley Jessen would feel if they knew that Freshlook lenses are the standard of measurement for poorly colored lenses?
Won't it mess up your results if you post this invitation more than once?
I went to that page and the survey was quick and painless. I hope you get some good results and that you share what you learn here.
I found a handy dandy inversion mark chart for all major brands. When it says "Inversion Mark: CIBA PM PL PH" that means that you should be able to see those letters printed on the edge of the lenses...
I have heard of this "breaking in" thing before, and it seems to work. I hope you'll let us know how it feels for you.
Even multifocal lenses can only do so much, JW.
Is that you in the picture, Amanda? That's a good look. I wouldn't go so far as to say "sexy," but it's still a good look. Dignified, refined, confident.
This is one of those threads where all the pretty girls hang out. :D
Yeah, there's a lot of [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/60834606@N06/5740171467/] type stuff in around the pictures.
Not in this thread . . .
Well, everybody can, if they want to go to another thread. I wonder if lisaeckman27 can be persuaded to post some pictures right here in this thread?
What do you think, lisaeckman27?
Hey, that looks like a still picture from the opening of The Six Million Dollar Man. Is that a bionic eye?
Have you been to your doctor yet. Michelle86? Did you find out anything useful?
Yes, Orionebula, that's exactly what it means.
Boy I'll bet the girls followed you home that day, Aaroncablemom. ;)
What, and leave my adoring Lens 101 fans? :D
Yes please.
Yeah I know. :o Unfortunately, I know what it's like to spout off on something, only to have someone tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about. I hate when that happens.
That's true, but it's nice to see the color and the pattern, wouldn't you agree?
Yes, divorce can be a touchy subject. I've never been married, but I know some people who have been divorced two or more times. Good, decent, nice people.
I read AmigaBonita's comment, and I...
Wow. Who is she? She's stunningly beautiful. Is she friendly, too?
You say you did a TV show last summer. Might I have seen you?
I did just that and found Bob's Keratoconus Page. Seriously, that's what it's called. Here's part of what's on it.
Hi,
I am afflicted with a relatively rare cornea disease called Keratoconus...
You mean 55% or higher water content, right? I just want to make sure I'm on the same page. Is there anything on the box that tells you what the water content of your contact lenses is?
Remember kids--just one drop of Boston One Step. One Step--one drop.
Columbia's not picky. :)
Yes, I see now that you wrote "plus pictures of me -- that I went to the trouble of trying to BADLY photoshop the lenses onto."
Well . . . are you going to buy some lenses now that you've gotten...
May everyone's 1-Day Acuvue Moist contact lenses remain trouble free in 2012 . . .
. . . but since I'm not in any way a Magic Spell Caster, feel free to come to Lens 101 with any questions or...
Yeah, that one's actually better than the close up pictures because the close ups are blurry.
It would seem that Kevin123 is a person of few words. Only one of his posts exceeds ten words.
What is a good "lense"?
What about in terms of diopters? Would you say that if your prescription changed half of a diopter, like from -2.0 to -2.5, that such a change would warrant a change in glasses? Will an eye doctor...
Hi Michelle86. Welcome to Lens 101. I don't think we have any other cheerleaders that are also gymnasts on this forum. I can see why contact lenses are important to you.
I'm not sure what your...
Hi crimsondr. Thanks for joining us. Fortunately, you're not the first to ask this question so I know the answer. The answer is that monthly lenses like Biofinity are typically worn 30 times. So if...
It sure seems that way, Bessie. That doesn't bode very well for the makers of Lens Eze contact lens tools.
So what did your OD say about hydrogen peroxide disinfecting for your contact lenses?
Borg and Muppets and eyeballs, oh my!
Yeah. Let's just imagine Aisha living happily ever after. It's less painful that way.
Although it's not a nice feeling to think that she just got that information and never came back to let us...
As I recall, the very end of the video that image is seen in freeze frame and then the camera slowly zooms in on Jackson's yellow eyes.
Anybody got a close up of those zombie eyes? I couldn't find...
Well I guess I wasn't paying all that much attention because it seems like I've learned a lot about lenses since I started reading Lens 101.
Hmmm . . . that's a good point, Beckifera. I wonder why dvb said something about paying over 120 pounds for what I thought here American made lenses. Apparently I have more to learn about Natural...
I noticed that for each row of pictures the model (you?) is in exactly the same pose. Did you (she?) really put different lenses in for each picture or are those just a simulation of how the contact...
Are you outside the United States, lensesforme? I thought I read somewhere that Solotica does not ship lenses to the United Sates.
Either that or they come from another country and so you have to...
Those are both prescription medications, right?
So your husband didn't want you to wear colored contact lenses until he saw how good you looked, and then he decided that he liked the blue ones after all, huh? Sounds like you won a convert.
I'm curious about why you changed from Biofinity to Air Optix Night & Day.
What's new dvb? Did you get this situation sorted out?
Did you get your question answered to your satisfaction, sunshinesade?
Well, now that the summer of 2011 is officially over, I wonder if any of you had any particular problems with your contact lenses. Was there a high pollen count? Were you more susceptible to pet...
They way I understand it, if you ask your eye doctor to give you a copy of your prescription, he or she has to give it to you. It's the law. So that being the case, have any of you still had a...
Have you had any kind of problem with you Biomedics EP order? Not the lenses themselves, but with actually receiving them? What happened?
Have you had the unfortunate experience of ordering a pox of Clearsight 1 Day contact lenses, but then you had to send them back? If so, what was the problem with them? Were you able to get a refund...
Thanks for at least assuring me that someone's out there, Bessie.
Anyone else? I'm not closing this thread by any means.
I could be wrong, but I think an ophthalmologist is a person who operates on eyes rather than simply examining them externally.
You might call this another way to wear sunglasses "down low."
Sorry, Banditcat. I'm not very good at finding lens substitutions.
I wonder why so many people use the word "zombie" to describe how they look in contact lenses they don't like, and why do zombies all have weird eyes?
I guess it's so you can recognize one when...
<3 <3 <3 your AirOptix Night & Day Aqua lenses, huh? That's great. Do you think you might get a little crazy and wear them overnight? Has your doctor mentioned anything about that?
Sorry to hear about your troubles, SeeMeFly. I hope you were able to exchange lenses and then heal up enough to wear the Acuvue Moist lenses again.
How happy are you with the eye doctor who fitted you with Biomedics Toric contact lenses? Do you feel comfortable going to him or her and that they won't hurt you? Are you able to ask them questions...
What were your initial thoughts as you wore your trial OP-10 lenses? Were they more comfortable than you thought? Was your vision exceptionally clear?
When you tried those Air Optix contact lenses for the first time, were you surprised how well you could see all of a sudden?
Many people wear contact lenses for years, and then when they find out there's a surgical procedure to help their vision, they go for it and stop wearing contact lenses.
Are there anyone out there...
Have you begun to wear Biomedics EP contact lenses now because they now come in your prescription? Did the lenses change or did your eyes change?
I know that Avaira is still fairly new on the market, but have you noticed them getting better? Have they done something to the lenses to make them more comfortable to wear?
Hopefully as time goes by companies find ways to make their products better. Sometimes the splash a big "New and Improved!" star burst notice on the label, and sometimes they go about it more...
You you noticed that your 1-Day Acuvue TrueEye contact lenses are getting better as time goes by? Has the quality improved since you first started wearing them?
It sounds like your duty is clear, Miraflow fans. Head on over to Walgreen's and stock up.
Yeah, that's kind of strange, isn't it? I can understand why people would want to give us a good look at the lenses, but I think I can get a better sense of how they look when I can see their whole...
I don't think that second photo is of aisha. I think it's a model showing us the color that aisha wants to achieve.
Right?
I'd like to see that smile as well.
I found a website called www.lasik.md and they have a page about eye surgery in Holland. They list locations in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague.
Earlier in this thread Kogando said "here we...
Okay, I did a Google search for information on how long to wear these lenses, and what do you know? It brought me right back here to Lens 101. It said "Soloticas should only be worn 4-6 hours a day...
So you want to know how many hours a day you can wear those Hidrocore Ice contact lenses?
That's a sad story, nebucanazza. Two doctors telling you that your contact lenses fit perfectly when they obviously don't.
Your question sent me scurrying to Google for more information. A lot of...
Okay, it's time to plug the sponsor! :D
Check out Lens.com. They don't sell Solotica lenses, but they are in the US, they will ship them to you without all that import tax fuss, most of the...
I've never heard of rigid contact lenses affecting astigmatism. I have heard about something called Corneal Reshaping Therapy. It uses rigid lenses to reshape the corneas and correct focusing...
Look at post #3. Aisha's natural color is shown in that thin little strip that only shows her eyes.
Hi Kogando. Are you an eye doctor? Do a lot pf people wear Synergeyes? They seem pretty special and nobody I know wears them.
I've heard that about the tear film too, but I don't know if that works for all contact lenses.
That "gravity assist" is called a "ballast." It's a part of the lens that's a bit heavier than the...
