Can you tell us where you did your research so we can see it for ourselves? Is it appropriate for laymen with no professional eye care training such as myself?
This is what it all comes down to.
This may be a good time to seek a second opinion.
In this case I don't think there would be any harm in getting a second opinion.
Thanks for your help, CooperVision. Are you an official representative for the company?
How do you like those Biofinity Multifocals when they're not ripped?
Wouldn't you know it? I did a search for someone comparing this two lenses specifically, which in my experience is like finding a needle in a haystack. I actually found a page this time . . . but the...
I'm certainly no expert in economics, but if I were to guess as to why those lenses were discontinued it would be that Alcon and Cibavision were in financial trouble, so they joined forces to try and...
I scanned through it and it seems to be about the kinds of things that can discolor a contact lens, such as medication or " patient non-compliance."
Did you find something you like?
Sounds good. I found information about these lenses here: http://xceedimaging.com/products/
Part of the message on that page says "Clinical studies with EDOF spectacle multifocals have proven to...
If they were expired a week, I'd say give them a try. A year is a long time, though. If you miscalculate, you'll really regret it.
The question was about a lens falling out while driving. I hope that never happened to your friend.
Hopefully, a cute girl will come along soon and prove you right, Jaws.
Great post, Columbia, from the title to the illustration. Well done sir. Well done.
I've not been to any livestock shows. Are the cattle and such expected to display some kind of talent, like most modern beauty pageants, or are they judged on tastiness alone?
Have you ever had to take your Rec Specs glasses back to the place where you bought them for a minor adjustment or maybe some kind of repair? Did they charge you for it?
I'm just curious if you can take your Realities glasses back to the place where you bought them for services such as tightening the hinges or replacing a lost lens. Can you get stuff like that done?
Look at these glasses. Would you call them "outrageous." Is it just me, or do those temples look like oars?
I find it interesting that the marketing guys at Ray-Ban decided to call these glasses "Rx" as in "prescription." Except for those who wear fake glasses, the rest of us wear Rx glasses, even if they...
Where do you keep your Ray Ban Youth glasses when you're not wearing them at night? Do you have a glasses case that you keep them in, or do you just lay them on your nightstand? Maybe you keep them...
After a bit of a search I came across a product called Unizyme Enzymatic Cleaner Tablets. It says on the website "Protein remover tablets for soft (hydrophilic) contact lenses.
12 Tablets = 12...
Oh yeah. You said "I'm tired of wearing glasses everyday, and these are 2 years old . . . "
I should have read more carefully. Sorry. :o
Did you know that Cynthia Rowley glasses were made in Italy? I didn't either until I found them online, and the description said:
resin frame
composite lens
non-polarized
...
Where can I get information about CSC safety eyeglasses? I found surprisingly little on line. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places.
Are David Benjamin glasses intended for children only, or is there a "David Benjamin" without the "4 Kids" part?
I read that some people wear glasses just to drive. Is there anyone here who can say that? If so, do you have another pair of glasses for a different activity such as reading? Are either of those...
What do you use to clean your CRUZ glasses with? They say not to use facial tissues because those contain wood fibers that may scratch the lenses. Is there anything commonly found around the house...
Wow. I sure hope you can find an alternative to two year old contact lenses. Two year old kids are cute, but two year old contact lenses can be dangerous.
"Chesaning (Chi-asin), named by the Chippewa Indians meaning 'home of the Big Rock', was incorporated in 1869."
It's in Michigan.
Too bad I couldn't find any pictures of a model wearing these glasses. The Internet needs more glasses models.
Nice little dialogue you've got going. Thanks for letting us listen in.
What about the question that Georgiaonmymind asked?
Perhaps you can sell that unopened bottle on eBay--if you can convince buyers that you haven't opened it.
Then again, there are a lot of people out there (as evidenced by posts found right here on...
Thank you for bringing us up to speed, Peri.
Thanks doe joining us, chaskaeric. Do you think that getting contact lenses in the mall may explain your initial difficulty?
As far as I know there's no way to customize your view the way you described it. I would suggest you log on, then just click on whatever kind of contact lenses you want to know about. Daily...
I think you're right. They're a "pair" of sunglasses because of the two lenses. Pink Floyd introduced us to "A Nice Pair" in 1972, and let it be known that they didn't say "a nice pear."
I couldn't find anything on line, but if you want to ask yourself, you can email them on their contact form page at http://www.cacoptical.com/eng_contact.html.
So would it help if I said that I'm not one of those people who wears glasses in the bath tub?
Cool. I never knew there was a Bulova Observatory.
Do you deal with bullies much?
I agree with Nursenancy. I'd like to have glasses that are as well-made as a Bulova watch.
That's right. I'm not cheap, I'm "no-nonsense." :p
What do you mean "leads to" cheap glasses?
As in "Hey Bud, let's party"?
Those glasses look heavy, so you may want to heal up from your nose-- er, 'rhinoplasty" . . . before you start wearing them.
As for the initial, haven't you see the big "NB" on New Balance shoes...
Everything I found said that ammonia is good for cleaning glass lenses. Your instinct is correct, Anazak.
This is from http://www.zeiss.com:
The Carl Zeiss guarantee certificate you receive from your optician with your new spectacle lenses, verifies that you have purchased a high-quality product.
It...
I can't help you with your missing Style 7 glasses, but I can provide a closer look at Style 8.
I haven't, but that's a good question, Dragonslayer.
I hope the contact lenses help with that.
Did you need a doctor's prescription to order your Illusion lenses?
So why did you say "Don't listen to this guy"? I'm listening to you if you want to tell us why you think that contact lenses need to have a Dk of at least 100 to be healthy. Has a respected...
I'm glad you found something that works. :)
I hope you find that perfect solution, FreeFlyFreak. Until then, I wish you clear skies.
That doesn't sound good. Lens moisturizers that react badly to dry eyes? Isn't that like an aspirin that reacts badly to a headache?
What did your eye doctor tell you? The directions on the bottle will probably tell you how long to continue treatment. If not, ask your doctor. Don't stop using it unless you're instructed to do so.
Glasses for myopia have lenses that are thinner in the middle than they are around the edges. Myopia lenses won't help for keratoconus. That requires a more complex prescription.
To answer your...
Hi there ykim27. I'm glad you decided to join us.
So how much do those sunglasses bend? If it's only a little bit, I wouldn't worry about it. Those Ray Bans are kind of expensive and I would hope...
I don't know why anyone would sell contact lenses that are bad for retinal health. The lenses your doctor prescribes to you have been chosen for your particular eyes overall. He or she won't just...
That's a good point, Lensesagain. Is "AK" a potential problem even if my tap water is treated with chlorine and such? I'm not going out to a well in my back yard, I'm opening a tap with water than...
Who's compiling a website?
I know that information was helpful to me, luvbostonxo2's. I don't wear RGP lenses, but that stuff is good to know. I didn't realize that the material that a contact lens is made out of can make such...
Hello there redpy5. Welcome to Lens 101. Now, when you say you've been "calling around" have you been calling stores or eye doctors? Who has been trying to discourage you from wearing RGP lenses?...
What do you think, darkeyedgyal? Do you think you might take Rhodes95's advice and ask your doctor about Air Optix Aqua?
Well, I don't know about the price because I went to that site and they were all in Rupees. That link you put up showed me a picture of a box of lenses I've never heard of. It looks like they also...
So, wait. You ordered peroxide on line and you're going to have to wait six weeks for it?
Have you got something us non-chemists can understand? I think that the majority of the people who come to this site are fairly intelligent, but don't have the education to know a polymer from a...
Hi xxxxx1. Who are "we" who has these data sheets? Can I find this information on line in a non-PDF format?
This Lens 101, xxxxx1. We don't get that many polymer chemists around here,...
Well, you've been so helpful to use here on Lens 101 that when it comes to contact lenses I would hardly call you "clueless."
Hi peanuts/Emma. Welcome to Lens 101. You sound like someone who has the experience we need. You're hired. ;)
I don't know if you noticed it or not, but there is a section about eyeglasses here...
That's great that you're giving feedback on the pictures. I'd like to see more of that on this site. It seems that most people come here to ask questions rather than to answer them. Nice work, CLSC.
Hi there ColormePINK. Welcome to Lens 101. I just want to make sure we're clear on this. You do have a prescription for those Mel contact lenses you want, right?
What do you mean it "won't let you leave so it can continue its sale pitch"? You go to that page and no matter what you click or type you can't go to a new page?
So it'd the letter "oh" and not the number zero then, right?
Well weatherbain, if those lenses "normally" felt as bad as they did on you, they probably would have gone out of business. I hope that it's simply a matter of faulty lenses and when you get a new...
Have you got a picture to illustrate these vibrant, bright and totally natural colors? I think you have enough posts for that. ;)
Maybe that's the way they spell "write" in HelpMeRhonda's country. :)
I checked and it's conformed. Yours is the first use of the word "yeppers" in this forum. Congratulations.
You must have an interesting work environment, madeinshades. :)
Well, it looks like there aren't any teenagers wearing ClearVision glasses. Unless they're like Ragnarox up there who doesn't ask about brands.
On a related note, would you say that women are more...
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Are you going to try a different color, or just stick with clear lenses from now on?
I'm guessing the eye drops didn't help?
Okay, thanks for not being mean. Remember that this is a forum for people to ask questions, Not everyone who logs in here is going to be a contact lens patient.
That being said, what lenses don't...
I see what you mean. Something like "change your contact lenses on the first of the month" is simple and consistent. No fine print.
Maybe they get tired of patients not listening to their explanations and take the easy way out.
That's right, kids. Make sure to clean your contact lens cases inside and out. :)
Just a little reminder from your friends at Lens 101.
Well, I guess that's appropriate for a character named "Storm" right?
That's a good joke, ElaineKramer. No doubt based on true stories happening in schools all over the world.
Je les ai bourrés dans les orteils de mes bottes.
Ich füllte sie in den Zehen meiner...
That picture was also taken through special filters--so as not to destroy the camera I would think.
Did you also notice something else about that picture?
It constantly updates. Check it out....
"When I turn to the Dark Side my eyes turn yellow."
Hi jads. Thanks for contributing to this post. Thank you for respecting the Webmaster's policies. I hope that even though you've got your own site that you'll still check back here on a regular basis...
Wow, you're getting blurred vision in one eye at a time over the course of hours? No offense to the good folks at Lens 101, but you shouldn't be looking for an answer here, you should see an eye...
It's nice to see such a pretty face so early on a Monday morning. Thanks for posting the pictures. :)
Honestly to me it's a toss up. They both look really nice on you and the colors (at least as far...
So did you end up buying the Sofmed Breathables Toric lenses after all? If you did buy them, how did you like them? We haven't heard from you in a while.
You can still Match Your Life with Colors Fusion even if you're hopelessly stuck in the 70's.
That's kind of what I thought when I saw the question. There's a great philosophical principle which states "stuff happens." It's good to know that if you were to get a little bit if dust or some...
