They never seemed to bother Radar.
That style of glasses never seemed to bother Radar.
Why buy something when you can just use your T-shirt?
I just had a funny mental image of Chewbacca wearing glasses and working on an oil paining. Hey, he can fly, why not paint?
I guess you just need to tell your friends to hit it more. :)
In most cases when you get your eyes checked and get measured for glasses, the doctor will give you the prescription. It's just part of the deal.
Yeah, that usually works. Your eye doctor should also supply you with cleaning cloth when you buy new glasses.
eHow.com suggests using toothpaste and a soft buffing cloth for repairing scratched glass. No mention of furniture polish.
That sounds good. Do that. (I'm like one of those bobble head dogs that nods all the time, aren't I?)
That would be a good solution, provided slacker361 can wear RGP lenses.
That's an even better idea than mine. I'm glad you showed up, luvbostonxo2's.
Don't people wear external eye protection when working with wood?
How did you get such a clear, close picture?
Here's a picture of a woman wearing Natural Colors in Ice.
I think it's a woman . . .
Yeah, those monovision contact lenses do take some getting used to, but I think you can do it. Keep us posted.
I think Natural Colors are a good choice, but it's hard for me to choose contact lenses for someone else. Especially if I don't know what they look like. Can you get a trial pair of Natural Colors...
Um, gasses? Classes? Harasses?
I see what you mean.
You've gotten an answer from probably the best person on this forum. I second the looky loo suggestion.
Keep us posted, patresh. I hope you start seeing that small print in less than two weeks. That seems like a long time in this society of instant messaging and "so fast you'll freak" sandwiches.
I'm going to say Carribean Aqua. I think the greener lenses will look better. A lot of people have blue eyes; green eyes are more unique.
I guess you decided to post this twice to make sure you got an answer, huh? ;)
Since your question deals with RGP lenses in general with no particular brand, this is the best place to post this question.
Why don't you keep the RGP lenses for a while and see if you can get...
Hey, at least you get to play golf. :)
Instructions aren't easy to find, even for a smart Nutradude like me. This is from Amazon.com:
" . . . with the RGP Inserter/Remover removal of the contact is a simple matter of placing the tool...
Thank you for those definitions, EV123.
So what's the difference between PMMA and RGP lenses?
Did you try that triangle thing that ForceBwitu suggested?
Yeah, I think you're right.
I think that's what pcouturier said.
You know who would know for sure, right?
I agree with BusDriver. That neovascularizaton thing doesn't sound very serious, although I'm a strong supporter of wearing your contacts for the time given by your doctor and no longer. I want to...
Interesting observation, timetraveler. How about we travel back to the top of this thread and relive the history of the time Snowflake asked "Why do contact lenses have an expiration date?"
Maybe she can post some pictures that are more "depictive."
There is a condition called neovascularization, where blood vessels grow across the cornea. Most of the time the person doesn't even know they have neovascularization until it's detected by the...
It seems kind of odd that they asked you to go to the lobby and get a book. Didn't they have an eye chart in the office you could have looked at?
You're right, Ace. They're similar, but not necessarily the same.
I just noticed that you said "your lids got callused." Not the eyeball, but the eyelids. Right . . . got it now.
Me, myself, personally, I can never have enough pictures of Debbe Dunning . . . or Richard Karn.
Can I see if she's wearing colored contacts? No.
A constricting corset? Yes.
I've had that happen to, and I'm pretty sure those are retinal blood vessels.
. . . and this is a bad thing?
I'm going to get some brown tinted lenses and do all those things!
It's hard to imagine that there are thousands of things that are bigger than the planet we're standing on.
IF . . . that's an accurate statement. It's unclear where Nateboy got his information from. Make sure you name your sources, everyone. It's just like the papers you wrote in school.
Good, I'm glad your mind is at ease now. :D
Thanks for playing along, Zana.
I think I might buy them just because I like saying "Nudy Blues." :p
So it's not that American sellers are too careful, they're just afraid of being sued?
Thank you for saying so, Lucyfur.
Yes, that's true, so don't look directly into the sun, even when wearing Converse sunglasses. You could permanently damage your eyes.
In the meantime, let's talk some more about playing sports with brown tinted sunglasses.
Yeah, I think so, too. At least there shouldn't be any power tools required.
Thanks for at least giving us something to look at, Sppokytooth. At least it gives us an idea of what Evergreen looks like.
Yeah, but this thread seems to have continued long after it "came together." That's good, communication is good.
Well, I guess no one has called in almost a year.
I think you mean the one that looks like this: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/images/cstyle/blue/buttons/report.gif
I found those on line, so no I didn't just pull them out cyberspace.
As an aside, many websites also add a letter of the alphabet to that first number . . .
Hi,
I just stopped by to finally say thank you for responding to my post and telling us your story. How are you doing now?
Okay, okay. You certainly know that you can't see small print any more.
I think I'm due for another eye exam. :o
How about this one?
"Your wife is smarter
Than ever you were
`cause she married you
And you married her!"
Hi chicodelta. Thanks for passing on that information. It was very helpful. Do you like Smith sunglasses yourself?
Here's a question for you. Has anyone reading this stopped wearing glasses because you just naturally gained the ability to see clearly? Did you notice your eyesight just getting better as time when...
So what makes these glasses suitable for women? Are they just the usual Oakley glasses painted pink or is there a real difference?
This forum has a section for each brand of glasses and contact lenses, but here t just has "reading glasses' with no subcategories. Does each brand of eyeglasses also have a corresponding reading...
Are there any Lens 101 readers out there who only wear their Biofinity Toric lenses some of the time? If so, when do you put them in, and why don't you wear them all the time?
If you need to wear glasses or contact lenses to clear up blurry vision, it probably won't do any harm to just do without them. However, that scenario changes when you get behind the wheel. So how...
Did your eye doctor prescribe Biomedics EP contact lenses to you even though you thought your vision was pretty good? Then you put them on and suddenly you realized that your vision was actually...
Well of course your contacts are going to be uncomfortable with one lens shoved up under your eyelid. See how if feels with the right lens out.
On the next part of you question, you're right....
Good. It sounds like this might still work out okay for you.
Wow, sorry about that. So was this all because he wore his contact lenses too long? Did he keep this up for a period of time?
Do these contacts let a little bit of your natural color to show through as the "colorblends" name implies? Have you ever tried a color that looked strange when combined with your own color?
How long can you typically wear CibaSoft Standard Visitint contact lenses before they start to feel uncomfortable? What happens after that? Do they itch? Burn? Do they just feel weird?
When you wear your Proclear Multifocal contacts, does it take a second for you to focus your eyes on the newspaper after you've been talking to someone across the room?
When you change focus from near to far, and vice versa, with Hydrocurve II Bifocal contacts, can you do it right away like you did before you needed bifocals, or do they take a second to adjust?
That's a good question, Sev. I'd like to know if anyone got a written prescription even after buying the contacts right from the doctor.
It's pretty well know, especially around here, that your eyesight starts to go at around age 40. Suddenly you can see small print anymore unless it's three feet away. Do we have any members of the...
When you order these contact lenses, do you write or say the entire thing, "Durasoft 2 Optifit Toric," or do you have some kind of shorthand that you use?
Have you ever taken a shower with your Biofinity Toric lenses in? Did you do it on purpose? :p What was the end result? Did the contacts stay in?
When you started using ClearSight 1 Day Toric contact lenses, did you switch from another brand? Did that mean you had to get a new prescription, too?
How long do you wear your Biomedics Toric lenses for? How often do you clean them? What brand of cleaning solution do you use?
These contact lenses come in a huge variety of sizes. I can't imaging someone not being able to find their size, but maybe that's you. Do you have an unusual size of contact lens that you can't find...
Can you get OP-10 contact lenses in colors like blue and green? If so, what colors are available?
There's a condition known as Computer Vision Syndrome and it refers to the strain that your eyes can feel after looking at a computer screen for a few hours. Can wearing Air Optix Night & Day Aqua...
What? 1-Day Acuvue contact lenses?
Hang in there M3GRL. I hope your headaches go away soon.
Right now they're at 1,027.
I'm not bragging, but this is post number 290 for me.
Wow. What an opportunity to plug the sponsor!
You can buy a box of six FreshLook Handling Tint contact lenses for $23.95 at Lens.com. You can get them for $19.99 a box if you buy six boxes or more.
Well, it says up there that her eyes are "greenish-brown" and that's what color they look like in the pictures. I don't know why someone with greenish brown eyes would wear greenish brown contacts.
So you probably spent about ten or twenty minutes looking at pictures of Mariah Carey, including ones that show her legs.
You poor thing.
You mean special effects besides colored contacts?
321Contacts said "never mind that."
Thank you for that great answer, rfknight. You sound like a professional. It's great to have you here on Lens 101. Keep up the good work. We've got a ton of unanswered questions here on the forum and...
Please let us know how you're doing, PRKtoRGP. Keep us in the loop. I hope you succeed in your training and become a police officer. Maybe you'll inspire others, too.
Did your eye doc say anything about the health of your left eye? That seems to be where you're having trouble.
I guess if the passive thing doesn't work then it's time to get aggressive, huh?
Clay, you're back.
How come you don't want to get a prescription? It's not hard to do. I like what Momalina2 said as well: "If I'm going to tuck some little plastic discs under my eyelids, I'd...
Thanks for the update, babyfaces. I'm glad that the people of Lens 101 could help you. I'm eager to hear how it goes with the PureVision contact lenses.
Have you ever seen one of those "auras," Kevin?
I'm curious. When you surf on Lens 101, do you look for answers to the questions you've posted, just start with the newest threads and work your way down, or what? Me, I like to start with the newest...
It's not easy to tell if those contact lenses are inside out at first. There are some posts here on Lens 101 that have pictures to illustrate the difference between a correct lens and an inside out...
You don't flirt with the eye doctors, do you? Give them a little smile and a wink while they're examining your pupils or something? ;)
Maybe they just made a mistake. It reminds me of Billy...
