Default No Soflens 38 For You!

This is a weird one.

I heard of a case where a young lady was denied contact lenses because her eyes were dry. Not only that, she was told to do eye exercises to clear up the dry eye before she would be given her contacts.

What's up with that? Seinfeld had the Soup Nazi, maybe this is the contact lens Nazi?

Eye exercises for dry eyes does sound a bit weird, but eye exercising has been known to improve vision as well as help with dry eyes. The young lady you spoke of was not given contact lenses until her eyes were fully capable of handling them without any adverse effects. If you wear contacts when your eyes are dry, the contacts feel like sand, and this can extremely irritate the eye. Here is an exercise that I found for dry eyes at www.web.singnet.com.

"Blinking
This one is a real help if you have dry eyes. Solution: produce more tears to moisten the eyes.

You can stimulate the tear ducts by squeezing your eyes shut really tightly. Then blink normally a few times, and squeeze again. Repeat a few times, and your eyes will feel more relaxed and comfortable."

There are many other eye exercises there as well. Here is a direct link to their eye exercising page:

In a previous post, I said I was too lazy to follow the link. This time I tried it and both of those web sites were gone.
I'm a little suspicious about these eye exercises anyway. If these eye exercises really worked to improve your vision, optometrists would be trained to teach people these exercises rather than how to fit people for corrective lenses, wouldn't they?
