Please don't fall asleep with your lenses still in, they can be quite uncomfortable taking out the following day. To make it really easy, get a case to put them in, and buy some moisturizing agent like clear eyes.

That's the difference between "going to sleep" and "falling asleep." Falling asleep happens accidentally. I asked this question so that people who ignore their doctor's warnings not to go to sleep in their contacts can find out why they shouldn't. Hopefully your description of morning discomfort will make some Lens 101 readers more careful about taking their contacts out before "going to sleep" to lessen the chances of their "falling asleep" with the lenses still in.
