Default Practicing With Eye Drops

If you're one of those sensitive types who always blinks when something comes close to your eye, would it help to put eye drops in your eyes for a few days of practice before trying a contact lens?

That would help actually, since it will further moisten the surface of your eye, eventually you won't have to use drops to put them in once you are used to it.

Default Contaminated Eye Drops Bottles

No contamination was found in the postoperative eyedrops, but five bottles were contaminated from the outpatient area (2.3%). The bacterial growth from outpatient drops was of the same order of magnitude as in previous studies. The practice in the UK for postoperative eyedrops to be discarded and fresh, separate bottles to take home is discussed. We recommend that this practice be changed so that the postoperative drops used for 72 hours or less are taken home.
That's an interesting post there, Papy. Should I be concerned about contaminated bottles at home?

You hold your eye open and touch the contact to your eye. Usually, unless your eyes are dry, the contact will stick to your eye. Blink a couple times and they're in. This takes practice so don't expect to do it too fast and give yourself a few extra minutes to get ready. To put eye drops in, tilt your head back, hold your eye open, and put the drops in. You may get a few drops on your cheek until you figure out where the bottle of drops has to be for them to go in your eye. When I got my contacts they showed me how to put them in so don't worry too much.

I like that idea about putting a drop on your cheek for practice. That's good, but here's a new problem I've encountered. The Optive drops I got from my eye doctor come in a tiny bottle that's so stiff that I can't squeeze a drop into my eye without squeezing so hard that the bottle shakes. Do you know of any brands that come in a softer bottle?
